PESA / TESA
We collect male sperm to conduct IntraCytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) procedure using a simple process known as “Percutaneous Epididymal Sperm Aspiration”. This process is usually recommended for men with a blockage in vas deferens due to vasectomy or other obstructions. We need to make the aspiration on any side of the scrotum to perform this process. Sometimes, patients want it on one side to reduce scarring.
We provide local anesthesia before doing a PESA test in Bangalore. We inject a needle to aspire the semen. Then, an andrologist tests the sperm for motility. When needed, we need to do this procedure several times until we get the motile sperm. This procedure is done before embryo or oocyte donation. We need moving sperm before extracting a female partner’s eggs.
We diagnose azoospermia ( a condition when the male partner’s semen has no sperm) with Testicular Sperm Aspiration or TESA test in Bangalore. It is recommended to treat sperm with obstructions or issues in ejaculation, mostly when other procedures have been failed. Usually, the recovered sperm is less motile with this method as per the sperms gather through a natural process, i.e. ejaculation. After successful sperm aspiration, we can either freeze it for later use or use it quickly for fertilization. Later on, we use the ICSI method to fertilize eggs, which are collected from the uterus. We provide local anesthesia to start this procedure. Then, we put a thin needle and extract a little bit of seminal fluid from seminiferous tubules to fertilize the eggs quickly or later.
